The role:

Liverpool City Council is seeking a highly motivated, organised and passionate Business Support Officer to join our dedicated Early Years Inclusion and SEND Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a service that supports young children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities to access the right support at the right time, enabling them to thrive in mainstream, early years settings. The role also offers opportunities to engage in professional development, continuous learning and opportunities to contribute to innovative projects and service improvements.

As a Business Support Officer within the Early Years Inclusion and SEND Team, you will provide comprehensive administrative and financial support across the team. You will be central to the smooth running of the service, supporting panels, maintaining data systems, managing financial processes, and ensuring that high-quality information and support are provided to colleagues, partner agencies, education settings and families across the city.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

  • Provide high-quality administrative support across the service
  • As a Business Support Officer you will support SEND-related panel meetings, including agenda preparation, minute taking and communication of outcomes
  • Manage and maintain electronic records, databases and filing systems
  • Monitor team mailboxes and respond professionally to enquiries from colleagues, partners and the public
  • Collate, analyse and report performance and service data
  • As a Business Support Officer you will support application and funding processes across the team
  • Process purchase orders, invoices, grants and payments in accordance with financial regulations
  • Assist with budget monitoring and financial record keeping
  • As a Business Support Officer you will coordinate training events, meetings and workshops
  • Support quality assurance activities, audits and performance reporting
  • Work collaboratively with education settings, nursery leaders, SENDCOs and partner organisations
  • As a Business Support Officer you will promote effective information sharing, confidentiality and data protection practices
