Salary: Grade 11 (£60,332 – £66,750)

The Role:  

  • Do you want to work in an exciting city with talented people and play a role in our improvement journey? We have a great opportunity to join our Finance Team in a critical role that will support the Council on its improvement journey to realise the vision of being a financially sustainable and resilient council with a strong culture of financial management, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • This role is critical within our organisation, and you will be responsible for transforming and managing our approach to financial management. In this post you will provide day to day leadership and support to the Finance Improvement Director in designing, co-ordinating and effective delivery of a council-wide finance improvement programme, as well as ensuring its successful implementation across all organisational layers through effective collaboration with senior stakeholders and members.
  • Using your knowledge and experience you will also provide strategic and operational financial insight to the programme, establishing financial standards and determining further opportunities to improve performance.
  • This is a hybrid role, which will require flexibility in prioritising face to face to meetings where needed.
