The Role: 

The post is one of 4 travel trainer positions.  The service has expanded in the last couple of years to meet service demands and the team currently consists of 6 travel trainers.  

You will design, deliver, and evaluate training interventions to support young people to travel independently. You will work with various cohorts of children with SEN and Disability in close liaison with colleagues in the SEN Assessment and Pupil Support Service and the SEN Travel Support Team.

The role will require you to support required frameworks for successful accreditation for personal development of young people recruited onto the Travel Training Programme.  You will work peripatetically across the city delivering 1:1 training to young people with special educational needs & disabilities and also deliver bespoke classroom training in schools.  The position will require you to work flexibly, which will include early start to support students to travel to their educational settings.

You should have the following skills and experience: 

Recent experience of working with children & young people with SEN & Disabilities and their families 

Experience of delivering training programmes
