Job title: Liverpool Young Futures Apprenticeship Programme
Liverpool City Council already employs around 60 apprentices and 25 graduates across a wide range of professions, helping people gain valuable experience, qualifications and careers that make a real difference.
Now we're launching our new Liverpool Young Futures Apprenticeship Programme – a dedicated route into employment for young Liverpool residents.
This isn't work experience or a placeholder. This is a real Job with a real salary (real living wage), real qualification, real career path.

For those who are successfully shortlisted you will be invited to attend an assessment centre in September dates TBC
Interviews will follow with hiring managers for those who are successful at the assessment centre
To apply you must:
- Be aged 16-20 (or up to age 24 if you have an EHCP or care experienced)
- Be a Liverpool resident (or a Liverpool City Council care leaver living outside the city boundary)
- Have the legal right to work in the UK
- Meet apprenticeship eligibility requirements, including UK residency requirements
- Be willing to work towards Functional Skills qualifications if you do not currently hold GCSE Grade 4/C in English and Maths
What salary and benefits will I get?
If your application is successful and you are offered an apprenticeship, you will have a real job from day one. This means you will:
- earn a salary of £24,547 from your first day
- work 35-hours a week — this includes paid learning time
- gain a qualification recognised across the UK
- get 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
