MSP is one of 42 Active Partnerships across England working strategically to use movement, physical activity and sport as a way of improving people’s lives across the Liverpool City Region (LCR) with an equal, diverse and inclusive approach. Although MSP are hosted by Liverpool City Council our remit covers all six boroughs across our region.
We come together weekly in Cunard Building with regular team and co-working days in venues across the region, all blended with homeworking. MSP are committed to flexible working, we trust you to work in a way that suits you and enables you to be your most productive and happy
You’ll be a highly motivated and proactive person with a strong systems approach mindset and a commitment to tackling inequality and inequity. You will work as part of a team and be trusted to use your own initiative, build strong partnerships, and represent MSP positively across the Liverpool City Region and Nationally.

The role:
- Convene and support a wide network of National Governing Bodies (NGBs) through regular forums and NGB Connect sessions
- Build and nurture relationships between NGBs and Place partnerships across the six Sport England Place locations in the Liverpool City Region
- Lead through a systems approach to the complex challenge of inactivity, inequality and inequity enabling shared action across partners
- Listen closely to partners and communities, identifying root causes and barriers to participation
- Identify and strengthen connections between national priorities and local needs, enabling aligned investment and joint delivery
- Create and share learning through case studies, reflective logs and storytelling that celebrates people and places across LCR
- Support partners to adopt a test and learn mindset, sharing what works (and what doesn’t) across local and national networks
- Work with wider system partners to support NGB impact on key audiences such as Women & Girls, Children & Young People, and wider determinants of health
- Explore and support opportunities around sustainable, multi-use facilities
- Connect into national agendas and learning networks, including Active Partnership National Organisation multi-sport function, to bring insight into LCR and share LCR learning national
