The Role: 

  • A great and exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children’s Workforce Academy for an experienced social work practitioner, whose role it will be to support the implementation and embedment of our Model of Practice
  • This newly created permanent role forms part of our continued improvement activity in driving strength based, relational and collaborative practice in our work with children, young people and their network
  • The role will primarily work directly in a modelling and supportive approach with teams across Children and Young People's Services. The priorities of the Model of Practice Lead are:
  • To support the delivery of training and workshops to practitioners across the practice system in relation to our Model of Practice
  • To upskill and support first line managers to embed the Model of Practice within their teams
  • To lead the future embedment of the Model of Practice across the holistic practice system
  • To support organisational alignment to the Model of Practice through forms review and review of policies and procedures 
  • To complete professional observations of practice and provide feedback in relation to practitioners’ use of the Model of Practice in line with the revised Quality of Practice Framework
  • To support the implementation and embedment of the Model of Practice across our Partnership (external and internal)
  • Our Model of Practice has four key workstreams: Family Safeguarding Practice, Restorative Practice, Systemic Practice and Social Pedagogy
  • This post is part of a wider commitment by the Children, Families and Schools Service to support the practice system to deliver impact and focused outcomes for our children, young people and their networks via building a sustainable foundation of support to our holistic workforce
