The role:

  • We are looking for a Principal Engineer - Structures to join our busy Highways and Transportation Team
  • You will be a key member of the team working to manage our structures to ensure they are safe and fit for purpose
  • In this key role, you will be the Engineer who develops and implements maintenance and capital works schemes, managing highway structures and developing our Asset Management Plan
  • You will need a solid background in the field: devising capital works for structures and preparing estimates, project plans and reports. Underpinning this experience will be an HNC or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and extensive, detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, specifications, and codes of practice. People skills are just as important – you should be happy liaising and communicating at a senior level. Add procurement expertise and you’ll have natural credibility
