The Role:

Liverpool City Council is on a significant transformation journey and we're looking for a dynamic Programme Manager to help us deliver our key change programmes. 

As part of our Transformation Team, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of Liverpool by managing high-impact programmes that touch on all areas of Council activity. Initially, your work is likely to focus on one of these key programmes:

  • Community Transport: Leading a review and revision of the Community and Home-to-School travel services
  • Children’s Social Care Sufficiency: Ensuring the availability of in-house children’s homes, residential placements, and fostering services
  • SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities): Ensuring young people and families access care and support at the right time
  • Adults: Improving service user routes and delivery of Adult Social care

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scoping and planning transformation programmes for smooth implementation
  • Managing risks, issues, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful delivery
  • Leading and supporting programme staff, ensuring they meet their development goals
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders and managing expectations throughout the programme lifecycle

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering change and making an impact. If you have a programme management qualification or relevant experience, and you thrive in environments where flexibility and adaptability are key, we want to hear from you.

You’ll need to:

  • Provide strong leadership and build high-performing teams
  • Scope and plan high-profile programmes aligned with Council objectives
  • Build excellent relationships with diverse and complex stakeholder groups
  • Navigate ambiguity and ensure effective governance to support programme outcomes
  • This is a hybrid role, which will require flexibility in prioritising face to face to meetings where needed

Next steps:

Closing Date for this role is: Thursday 7th November 2024.

Interviews will take place week commencing WC 25th November 2024 and will include a presentation on a topic to be disclosed once interviews are arranged. Interview questions will also be shared prior to interview.
