The Role:
Liverpool City Council is on a significant transformation journey and we're looking for a dynamic Programme Manager to help us deliver our key change programmes.
As part of our Transformation Team, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of Liverpool by managing high-impact programmes that touch on all areas of Council activity. Initially, your work is likely to focus on one of these key programmes:
- Community Transport: Leading a review and revision of the Community and Home-to-School travel services
- Children’s Social Care Sufficiency: Ensuring the availability of in-house children’s homes, residential placements, and fostering services
- SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities): Ensuring young people and families access care and support at the right time
- Adults: Improving service user routes and delivery of Adult Social care

Key Responsibilities:
- Scoping and planning transformation programmes for smooth implementation
- Managing risks, issues, and stakeholder engagement to ensure successful delivery
- Leading and supporting programme staff, ensuring they meet their development goals
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders and managing expectations throughout the programme lifecycle

You’ll need to:
- Provide strong leadership and build high-performing teams
- Scope and plan high-profile programmes aligned with Council objectives
- Build excellent relationships with diverse and complex stakeholder groups
- Navigate ambiguity and ensure effective governance to support programme outcomes
- This is a hybrid role, which will require flexibility in prioritising face to face to meetings where needed

Interviews will take place week commencing WC 25th November 2024 and will include a presentation on a topic to be disclosed once interviews are arranged. Interview questions will also be shared prior to interview.
