The Role: 

  • We are recruiting Referral and Advice Officers for our Children’s Advice and Support Service, Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub to provide advice and information in relation to all Children’s Safeguarding contacts.
  • Based in the historic Cunard Building, this is a fantastic opportunity those with a real desire and passion to make a positive difference to how we support our children and families of Liverpool.
  • The Referral and Advice Officer role is very varied, with lots to continually learn. This is a challenging role and successful candidates will receive relevant training and supportthroughout their career. .

    Please note these roles will be required to work Evenings and Weekends and will attract the associated allowances.

  • To take full ownership of professional contacts and customer requests through to resolution by generating a contact or signposting to the appropriate service.
  • Compliance with Children’s Safeguarding legislation and procedures.
  • To direct people to online resources within Liverpool City Council, voluntary services, National Health Service (NHS) and other partners.
  • Being able to offer clear advice and guidance on a range of Children’s Social Care services and support networks.
  • You will be a self-starter who is able to progress contacts through to our Social Work Practitioners in the MASH and confidently use software systems such as Microsoft Office, email, and intranet/internet as well as telephony services.
  • You will be willing to evolve and adapt in line with business demand and customer trends using transferable skills to adapt methods of contact and drive improvement.
  • The working hours for the post are 35 per week Monday - Friday (excluding bank holidays) 8am to 6pm for core hours. Work patterns can be changed inline with business requirements and notice will be provided for any changes of working pattern in line with corporate policy. For the Out of Hours role, you will be required to work Evenings and Weekends and will attract the associated allowances.
