Job Introduction
Job title: Refugee and Migration Support Officer
The role:
A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen to join a newly created team within our Housing service. The role of Refugee and Migration Support Officer will be at the forefront of making sure Liverpool is a welcoming city for all our residents and the Council is a welcoming organisation.
We are excited to create this new role to ensure that all our communities are given the support they need to access good quality, suitable and sustainable housing, allowing them to settle and thrive within the city.
Liverpool has a long history of migration from the Chinese, African and Caribbean communities through to modern migration from Ukraine or Afghanistan; the city is a wonderful place to live and work because of the communities who have made it their home.
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join us on the transformation journey we are on, to deliver a unique housing advice offer for our residents; enabling people to live in safe cohesive communities; understand their rights and responsibilities; benefit from well-functioning services and have the opportunity to contribute their voice to shaping and delivering such services.
As a Support Officer, you will bring to the role demonstrable experience of providing administrative support for a busy team.
This job is fixed term for 2 years to help tackle the recent and ongoing increase in refugee and migrant homelessness.
The role is hybrid and you will work on a rota basis between 8:00am-7:00pm. For example, one week you might work 9:00am-5:00pm and the next 10:00am-6:00pm. Rotas will be confirmed on appointment.
Please download the job description and person specification (at the bottom of this page) to learn more about the role. Please note that you must meet all essential criteria in the person specification in order to be shortlisted.
