The role is based at Croxteth Children's Centre, supporting disabled children who access our short break service to play.
The Role:
- As a qualified Short Breaks Support Worker you must hold a NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent qualification
- As a qualified support worker you will have previous experience in directly working and supporting disabled children and their families and will have knowledge of Child Development and the importance of play
- In the role, Short Breaks Support Worker will also responsible to support disabled children attend various friendship groups in the community to develop their independence, so you will have strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and be confident to lead group activities and plan risk assessments
The commitment does cover 1 evening and a weekend session per week, with additional hours available in school holidays, so you will need to have a flexible approach and be a key team player.
We are Ofsted registered and all children who attend our Children’s Centre, have fun and enjoy and achieve, so you will assist in facilitating this in a safe environment.
We provide paid training for all staff in First Aid, epilepsy, moving and handling, food hygiene and TEAM TEACH which is a positive behaviour management intervention.
As this is a part time role, the salary and any allowances will be paid pro rata.
