An exciting opportunity has arisen within Liverpool Children and Young People’s Services as we integrate our SEND and Alternative Provision services, enabling a holistic understanding of and response to children and young people’s needs
The Role:
- As a Speech and Language Therapist within the Behaviour Intervention Team, you will play an integral part of the team by providing advice and support on how speech & language development relates to pupil behaviour and communication skills
- As a Speech and Language Therapist you will give specific speech & language recommendations and strategies at both whole school and pupil specific level that will support emotional regulation and positive engagement, helping to reduce incidents of challenging behaviour and the number of suspensions and exclusions. You will promote communication supportive environments in schools and inclusive, trauma-informed approaches to behaviour.
- As a Speech and Lanuage Therapist you will be a key player in this service area, you will work with other specialists across the SEND Support Services. Reporting directly to the Behaviour Intervention Team Operational Lead, you will contribute significantly to our mission of providing quality education to every child and young person, irrespective of their background or challenges they may face and will work with other managers across the team to ensure effective planning and support is in place.
This post is part time term time 21 hours per week across three days (flexible), and is a fixed term contract for 12 months in order to carry out specific and additional specialist activities linked to targeted funding. As this is a part time role the salary and any allowances will be paid pro rata.
