The Role:
Family Drug and Alcohol Courts (FDAC) are an innovative, problem-solving, and evidenced based multi-disciplinary intervention with families in the court arena. Evidence has shown that FDACs deliver better outcomes for families and children involved in the public family law justice system.
The FDAC trained judges work in conjunction with the specialist team to support parents in overcoming substance misuse and related challenges to ensure they can safely care for their children. We have recently created this new and innovative service within Liverpool City Council.
Key Responsibilities:
- As FDAC Team Manager, you will be skilled and experienced working within Children’s Services. You will be social work qualified and hold a current Social Work England registration
- You will have a robust understanding of all Children’s Safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance and processes, with clear decision-making skills and a proven record of working across all disciplines, including mental health drug services and domestic abuse
- You will be responsible, as FDAC Team Manager, for overseeing your team’s work and fidelity of the model. The role will include a strong focus on a relationship approach and complex family circumstances, including addiction and domestic abuse and effective partnership working. This is a unique chance to develop your skills in this specialist area
- The Family Drug and Alcohol Courts Team requires a manager that has the drive and passion to deliver excellent services and improve outcomes to ensure a positive difference and brighter future for our children and young people
- You will embed a high-performance culture by supporting your team to continually develop their skills, so they can achieve the best outcomes. Through regular reflective supervision with your team, you’ll champion their personal and professional growth and health and wellbeing, ensuring an inclusive approach.
