The role: 

  • As a Short Breaks Support Worker, you will have previous experience in directly working with and supporting disabled children and their families
  • Our Short Breaks Support Workers are responsible for supporting disabled children to attend various friendship groups in the community to develop their independence. You should have strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures
  • You will be required to work at least one evening and one weekend session per week, with additional hours available during school holidays. As a Short Breaks Support Worker, will need to have a flexible approach and be a team player
  • We are Ofsted registered and all children who attend our Children’s Centre have fun, enjoy, and achieve, so as a Short Breaks Support Worker you will assist in facilitating this in a safe environment
  • We provide paid training for all Short Breaks Support Workers in First Aid, epilepsy, moving and handling, food hygiene, and TEAM TEACH, which is a positive behaviour management intervention

As these are part time posts, your salary and any allowances will be paid on a pro rata basis.
