This is an exciting time for Adult Social Care in Liverpool, as we continue our journey to transform service delivery and introduce new and innovative ways of working. We are ambitious in our approach to meet our statutory responsibilities in a strength based, person centred way, giving them what’s needed to stay independent and live better lives. Vital to this ambition is our Commissioning Team who will drive and implement the fast-paced transformation of the Adult Social Care and Health services to deliver better outcomes for people, improved value for money, and a sustainable high quality Adult Social Care system for the people of Liverpool, in line with our clear and accountable Adult Social Care Strategy and vision.

You will be a skilled and knowledgeable individual who has ideally worked as part of an ambitious Strategic Commissioning team. You will be experienced and committed to driving innovation, transforming service delivery, collaboration, quality, and value for money throughout the commissioning cycle whilst remaining focused on the outcomes for the individual.

At this exciting point in Liverpool City Councils journey of improvement and ambition for the people of Liverpool you will champion the values and behaviours of all Liverpool City Council employees, Integrity, Support, Empowerment, inclusive and single team ethos.  You will also be critical to supporting and embedding a culture of co-production and strength-based working across Commissioning within Adult Social Care.

  • Lead in developing and facilitating strategic commissioning approaches in relation to the care market
  • Provide skilled interpretation of key data sources to support strategic commissioning  
  • Lead on the commissioning and procurement of care and support services from the care market for people with Care Act eligible needs with a focus on enabling people to self-direct their support
  • Development and delivery of key performance outcomes to measure the impact of commissioned services and interventions.
